Review by hotel critic
During my recent weekend getaway at Hotel Andino Club, I found the experience to be a delightful blend of comfort and local hospitality, although there were a few hiccups along the way. The spacious double room offered a serene retreat, complete with a safe deposit box and a lovely balcony where we could unwind after a day of exploring. The panoramic views of the Blanca Mountain range truly captivated my group, making my desire to relax even more irresistible. The hotel staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, ensuring our stay was comfortable despite my less-than-stellar Spanish skills. The location is another highlight, as it’s just 900 meters from the vibrant Main Square of Huaraz, perfect for those evening strolls to soak in the local culture and charm. Do take note: breakfast left something to be desired, especially when our early outing left us with no options for a to go bag. Dining at the in-house restaurant was a treat, boasting some of the best food in Huaraz, though I did encounter a strange service charge for bread that felt a bit unnecessary. All in all, Hotel Andino Club had its ups and downs, yet it stood as a commendable option in a city with few alternatives, perfect for travelers like me seeking a cozy base from which to experience Huaraz’s natural beauty.
